With just two days to go I'm in a bit of a flap. I've somehow got to squeeze 3 weeks worth of clothing and running gear into one small rucksack.
I've a new laptop that I'm struggling to get my head around, I'm losing my blogging virginity as I type and I've still got to work out how to use a satellite dish to update this site from the end of the earth.
Good luck Nathan, both with the journey there and the marathon its self. Watch out for them thar icebergs. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you on the day. Will speak upon your victorious return.
Hello!
Over the past year we've run marathons, half-marathons, several 10kms and a couple of other races raising over £2,500 for the Alzheimer's Society (www.alzheimers.org.uk).
However the most challenging run took place in February - 'The Last Marathon' in Antarctica.
The conditions were extreme; high winds, freezing temperatures, steep glaciers, ice, snow, dive bombing Skuas and vicious leopard seals were just a few of the obstacles!
After a week of recovery Nathan also ran 'The End of the World' Marathon in Tierra del Fuego.
And if you're wondering why we've done all this? Well, along with the personal challenge it's all in aid of a worthy cause. So if you fancy digging into your pockets to help with fundraising check out our charity website www.justgiving.com/louiseandnathan - any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated and every pound you donate will go directly to the Alzheimer's Society.
Thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy following our adventure.
